When September rolls around every year, I immediately think of the Fall season. You start yearning for that cool, crisp air and all things pumpkin-flavored. But here in Florida, we don’t quite have much of a Fall experience, with temperatures still hovering in the 90s with intense humidity!
However, the one thing September does bring that Floridians can get excited about is football season! Whether you are a fan of professional or college football, it’s a time to gather with family or friends to cheer on your favorite teams! And no game day is complete without indulging in those irresistible game day snack cravings that make the experience even more fun.

Equipment you’ll need

- Parchment paper
Ingredients you’ll need
- Vegan Crescent Rolls: When selecting crescent rolls, it’s essential to check the ingredients to ensure they are vegan-friendly. For my pigs in a blanket, I used Annie’s Organic Crescent Rolls. Another great option is Immaculate Organic Crescent Rolls. While Pillsbury Crescent Rolls is also vegan, I tend to lean towards organic choices when available.
- Vegan Sausage or Hot Dog: This is where you can get creative! I used Beyond Sausage Brat Original for my recipe, but you can choose either hot dog or sausage styles, as there are plenty of vegan options. Some of my favorites include Field Roast Sausages (which come in various flavors), Light Life Smart Dogs (for that classic hot dog taste), or Impossible Beef Hot Dogs.
- Plant-Based Milk: Your choice of plant-based milk is used to brush the pigs in a blanket before baking, giving them a beautiful golden finish. I used Oat Malk Original Milk for this recipe, but some of my other favorites include Plant Oat, Oatly Super Basic, or Elmhurst Oat Milk.
